3rd August 2012SOUTH SOMERSET: Council grant aid for CAB
SOUTH Somerset District Council presented a cheque to the Citizen’s Advice Bureau for a total of £119,340.
The grant, awarded by South Somerset’s Corporate Grants Committee is to help the Citizen’s Advice Bureau to continue to provide advice services for residents of South Somerset. The grant will also help the bureau to work towards alleviating debt problems facing some local residents.
Chairman of SSDC, Mike Best, presented the cheque to Monica Carrier, bureau manager and Miss J Cronie, chairman of trustees of the CAB.
After presenting the cheque Councillor Best said: “The work that the Citizen’s Advice Bureau does in South Somerset amazes me. Residents would struggle more if there wasn’t this type of service available. This cheque will help them to carry on for another year and aid them to continue the outstanding quality of service they currently provide.”
The Citizen’s Advice Bureau provides legal advice, financial advice, welfare benefits advice and information of employment law to the community.
